This specialty plant is in the Ficus family. It resembles the Ruby Red Rubber Tree. Only it has more of a peachy pink leaf than the Ruby. It is a variegated variety with its bi colored white and pink leaves. Incredibly easy to care for this plant is forgiving to a point. It will tolerate dry conditions, responding better to under watering than over watering. It should have a good drink at least once a month (but will grow faster if it has a drink twice a month).

Like all variegated plants it needs bright light to get the pigmentation on its leaves but will also do good in bright indirect light. Just avoid places where there is only low light or no natural light. (They do like natural sunlight!)

To help it grow evenly rotate it once a month and dust the leaves to keep them clear of dust and other small particles that will clog the leaves from the sunlight and humidity.

If you get on a consistent care regiment with this plant it will live a very long time and grow quite big... over 5 or 6 feet!

Because of it's pretty foliage and easy care the Ficus Tineke makes an amazing gift for both expert plant people and novice planters just getting started.
