This Awesome plant is named after it's country of origin... Madagascar. They thrive in the arid regions of southern Madagascar. The dry, warm conditions are not unlike our own Sonoran Desert making this plant very successful here. These plants grow to be quite tall and produce a plethora of long healthy green leaves that make it quite stunning. It's cactus like trunk is full of spines so it's almost like you get a lush green plant and a cactus in one!

Send this one to someone new to Tucson, a plant loving friend whose having a big Birthday, a family member with a green thumb who has every plant under the sun, or a colleague who needs something to liven up their office. There are many great reasons or also no great reasons to gift someone this hardy plant. It takes very little care and will do great once you find the perfect place where it will get lots of sunlight but out of any cold or overly hot drafts.
